Though our journey in SRF started with a nylon tyre cord plant in Manali in India in 1970, we over the years not only expanded our product range under the Technical Textiles but also diversified into many adjacent businesses. Arun Bharat Ram
Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman of SRF Limited is an alumnus of the University of Michigan,
U.S.A. He set up SRF in 1970 as a manufacturer of nylon tyre cord, which over the
years has not only diversified but has also acquired global leadership in most of
its businesses. His strong support of initiatives of corporate governance, Total
Quality Management and professionalisation of management led to SRF's Industrial
Synthetics Business winning the coveted global Deming Award in 2004.
He started his career in 1967 with the Delhi Cloth & General Mills Co. Ltd. (now
DCM Ltd.), the flagship company of the Shri Ram Group of Companies.
Bharat Ram has been President of CII during 2000-2001, currently Chairman of CII
Education Council, and the Indian Co-Chairman of the Indo German Consultative Group.
A mid-handicap golfer and a keen musician, having learnt under the renowned maestro
Pt. Ravi Shankar, he plays the sitar whenever possible. Arun Bharat Ram belongs
to a renowned family of Delhi well known for its contribution in the field of education,
art, culture and sports.
Arun Bharat Ram has won many awards and accolades. The important ones are the Jamshedji
Tata Award, which was conferred on him by the Indian Society for Quality (ISQ) for
the year 2006 and the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit, presented by the Federal
Government of Germany in 2008.
Ashish Bharat Ram took over as managing Director of SRF Ltd in January 2007. He
has assumed various responsibilities across different verticals since he joined
SRF in 1994. Under his leadership SRF has grown into a multi locational global entity
with operations in 4 countries. SRF is a domestic leader in most of its businesses
with a global leadership position in Technical Textiles. The Chemical Business has
achieved new benchmarks in sustainable development and community partnerships.
Prior to this Ashish had briefly worked as a Management Trainee at Toyota Motor
Corporation, Tokyo and American Express bank, New Delhi. He also had a very satisfying
stint in DCM Toyota, SRF Finance Limited and SRF Overseas Limited.
He has done his schooling from Doon School and graduation in Economics from Hindu
College, Delhi University with an emphasis on mathematics. Ashish went on to do
his Masters in Business Administration from 1992 to 1994 with an emphasis on finance
and strategy from The Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University,
Ithaca, NY, USA. Presently, he is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation
(YPO) Delhi Chapter.
He is a golfer of repute and enjoys listening to Indian classical music.
Kartik Bharat Ram took over as Deputy Managing Director of SRF Limited in February
2007. He has assumed various responsibilities across different verticals in SRF
ever since he joined the company in 1993. In his current role, Kartik is largely
involved in creation and strengthening of a culture of total excellence across the
organisation with studied focus on TQM as SRF way of management. He is passionately
involved in driving aspirations of the company through value-based leadership. Kartik
is also striving to build SRF into a trusted corporate brand - one that is respected
for its commitment to deliver sustainable growth through total excellence.
As Vice President in SRF, Kartik was instrumental in integrating HR, IT and TQM
functions across the organisation.
Earlier, Kartikeya had the opportunity of working as a SRF member of the team with
McKinsey & Co in 1993, for developing and implementing a cost reduction programme
and rationalisation of manpower. He has also been associated with designing business
processes with Coopers & Lybrand for setting up a new factory under SRF's business
Kartik is a graduate from Santa Clara University and MBA from Cornell University,
A Chemical Engineer from IIT Kharagpur Rajdeep Anand drives the company's vision
of creating value through innovation in refrigerants and life science products.
He has been involved in building the company's in-house R&D capability in high end
of technology in new generation refrigerants and speciality chemicals that is recognised
and respected by the leading global players in these spaces.
Rajdeep is credited with setting up the state-of-the-art R&D division for Chemicals
Business in SRF. He also won a critical acclaim for making SRF the only company
in India to have developed technology to manufacture HFC-134a, a new generation
His passion for technology and hands-on approach to leadership have enabled SRF
to develop among other things a proven capability in 'Process Development to Commercialisation'
especially in fluorine based speciality products for pharma and agro sectors. Under
his leadership the company has filed more than 70 patents for different processes.
Though Rajdeep had earlier served SRF for a brief period in 1982, his long term
association with the company, however, began in 1993 when he joined the organisation
as Head of Corporate Planning. Within a year he moved to head the company's Chemicals
Business. During his tenure in SRF's Chemicals Business, Rajdeep played a crucial
role in the de-bottlenecking of refrigerants & chloromethane plant that saw their
annual capacity more than doubling.
Rajdeep began his professional career from Engineers India Limited where he spent
about 10 years handling process design for petrochemical plants and off-shore oil
& gas production facilities. Prior to joining his SRF, he was spearheading his own
entrepreneurial venture Chem Aides as its CEO.
He has attended several training and learning programmes including a week long training
programme on innovation held at MIT, Boston in 2005.
An alumnus of IIT Delhi Sushil Kapoor is at the helm of the largest business segment
of the company, the Technical Textiles Business. At IIT Delhi from where he graduated
in Mechanical Engineering in 1982, Sushil had the honour of bagging the Wanson-Thermax
Award for his project. Later during his professional career Sushil also attended
Stanford University for a programme on Strategy & Organisation.
With over 28 years of diversified experience, he assumed many roles spanning purchase,
projects, operations, sales and marketing across Engineering, Chemicals and Textiles
Industries. Beginning his professional career from DCM as Management Trainee in
1982, he moved to SRF Nippon Denso in 1984 before he joined SRF in its Chemicals
Business in 1993.
At SRF, he has been credited with evolving a successful model of Process based Organisation
during his overseas stint in its Dubai plant way back in the late 90s. The system
was later deployed across the organisation. He was the CEO of SRF's tyre cord business
when it won the prestigious Deming Application Prize in 2004.
His authority on technical matters, hands-on approach to leadership and inter-personal
skills have enabled him to turnaround many of the operational units in SRF, a feat
that has earned him a title of 'turnaround expert'.
He is presently busy charting and implementing the growth strategy of SRF's Technical
Textiles Business. Sushil played a key role in two successful overseas acquisitions
for SRF during 2008, the one in Thailand and the other one in South Africa in addition
to commissioning projects for SRF's maiden entry into the arena of Polyester Industrial
Yarn and Laminated Fabrics.
Sushil has been a member of several professional bodies. At CII, he is the Chairperson
of its Steering Committee on Technical Textiles and has also been associated with
drafting of government policies on technical textiles. Besides, he is on the Corporate
Advisory Board of SRF University.
Anoop is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. He has been working
with SRF Ltd. for more than 30 years. Presently, he is the President, CFO & Company
Secretary and is a member of the leadership team.

Sanjay Chatrath is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he
graduated in Textile Technology in 1985.
He has over 28 years of experience covering diversified areas like Manufacturing,
Marketing & Human Resources across multiple Businesses like Tire Cord fabric, Engineering
Plastics and Packing Films in India and overseas locations
He joined SRF as a Management Trainee in 1985 in the Technical Textiles business
at Chennai before moving onto Engineering Plastics Business. He was part of the
project team that set up the 1st green-field overseas entity of SRF at Dubai in
1995 and later steered the same as its Head till 2003.
He returned to India to spearhead the growth of another of SRF’s Businesses, viz.
Packaging Films Business and grew the same 11 fold in a short span of 7 years. The
organisation under him was awarded the Top Exporter in SEZ (plastics category) by
Ministry of Commerce, GOI.
He is currently the CEO of the oldest business of SRF – Tirecord fabric as well
as Polyester yarns.
Sanjay is also the Industry Representative advising the Government sponsored Centre
of Excellence at PSG College of technology.
An alumnus of Hindu College, Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New
Delhi, Ajay Chowdhury is a people person who has a way of reaching out to the hearts
and minds of his colleagues. With an MBA degree in Human Resources from Faculty
of Management Studies, Delhi University, Ajay sincerely believes in the triad of
capability development, ethics and joy at the workplace.
At SRF, where his career started in 2010, his priority is to build and strengthen
a business aligned, value driven, issue based, employee care centred HR function
that other organisations would like to emulate.
With over 22 years of rich and varied work experience Ajay started his professional
career from the public sector steel behemoth SAIL in 1991, where he learnt the basics
different kinds of HR and IR related issues typical of any manufacturing entity.
In the ensuing period, he moved on to leadership positions in HR at various levels
in different organisations such as Dell, Fidelity, Hutch, and Birlasoft.
He also worked in the UK for three years that further honed his international and
cross-cultural people management skills. He also spent two years in the entrepreneurial
space, where he offered HR services to clients in the SME segment on a time-share
basis, among other ventures connected to capability development.
A keen sports enthusiast, Ajay has represented his University and State in sports
like Squash, Table Tennis and Cricket. Whenever he finds time he loves to play Golf
and has recently started learning guitar.
With over 20 years of work experience, Prashant Yadav has essayed many roles which
honed his managerial, leadership and people skills. At SRF where his tenure started
in 1994, he has handled many assignments ranging from Projects to Technical Services
to Manufacturing to Marketing across different business divisions. As the head of
SRF's Engineering Plastics Business for over 5 years, he has been successful in
turning around the business. Prashant has also been instrumental in setting up the
Chloromethanes project for the Chemicals Business and had launched new generation
In his current role as the President and CEO of Fluorochemicals and Engineering
Plastics, he intends to leverage his vast and varied experience to grow the business
and achieve operational excellence. Prior to joining SRF, Prashant worked briefly
for another organisation, Synthetics and Chemicals in 1991.
A chemical engineer from University of Roorkee (currently known as IIT-R) Prashant
also completed his PGCBM from XLRI Jamshedpur later while working with SRF.
Staring his professional career from SRF as Executive Trainee in 1996 Prashant Mehra
held various responsibilities across businesses before he became the President &
CEO in 2013. His journey in SRF, however, began from the Planning & PPC division
of the Fluorochemicals business. Along the way in his younger days, he also served
as Executive Assistant to MD and then to Chairman, where he learned the finer nuances
of business operations, financial management and market development. His stint in
the Packaging Films Business began in 2003 where he started looking after international
marketing and also took additional responsibility of domestic marketing. Subsequently,
he was assigned additional responsibility of managing strategic sourcing, IT and
operations of the Kashipur plant.
As the business head of the Packaging Films Business, Prashant was credited with
building up exports that eventually transformed the company from a non-exporter
to the largest exporter of PET Films from India. Putting his ‘market insight’ to
work, he spearheads a programme that aims at strengthening the company’s reputation
of ‘easy to do business with’ among all its customers. His conviction in customer
satisfaction helped him establish SRF as a preferred supplier to the converting

Agra, Prashant is currently focused on expanding the global footprint of the Packaging
Films Business both in terms of operations as well as market.
Joining SRF as a Management Trainee in 1994, after passing out from the Univeristy
of Roorkee (now IIT-R) with a degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons) Anurag Jain
has taken on responsibilities in the fields of Technical Services, R&D, New Product
Development, Process Design, Operations, Strategy and Business Development. He has
successfully leveraged a core technical background to make key contributions in
key projects like HFC-134a and various specialty chemical plants. Subsequently,
moving into the commercial side of the business, Anurag did his EPBM from IIM-Calcutta,
and has also gained insight on Building a Global Enterprise in India with the Harvard
The co-patent holder for the first patent taken by SRF, Anurag was the driving force
behind the turnaround of the Specialty Chemicals Business and for putting it on
a strong growth trajectory. Today, the Business is a key growth driver for the Company
with strong relationships with many key global agrochemical and pharmaceutical players.
As leader of the Specialty Chemicals Business, Anurag believes that people are his
biggest strengths. He participates in their learning and enables them to take higher
responsibilities. He enjoys technology of all kinds - Android, automobile, or his
mainstay, chemical technology. He has a deep-rooted value system, and takes joy
in the small things in life.

100 years to 1889. We remain committed to the values of our group founder, Sir Shri
Ram who advocated and stood for doing business with ethics.
SRF began as Shri Ram Fibres in 1970 when its parent company DCM decided to set
up a separate entity to manufacture nylon tyre cord fibres. Its formation was a
result of the foresight that nylon was the future material for tyre cord fibres.
The company established its first plant in Manali near Chennai in 1973.
